CYNTHIA McMULLIN: "WATERWORKS"
An Exhibition of Fine Watercolor Paintings
Cynthia McMullins watermedia paintings capture the wonder
for light, mystery and movement of sea and sky. Extensive painting
in New England, the Caribbean, Aegean, and Mediterranean have deepened
the marine focus.
A 5-year degree in the Art & Architecture, at Syracuse University,
with additional studies at the University of Wisconsin, Maine College
of Art and with several renowned professionals has insured that
her work is academically founded. For 3 years she was, UNUMs
Corporate Architect & Curator for their extensive art collection.
ARTISTS STATEMENT
My art has moved into a marriage of the representational and abstract,
each image infused with power and challenge. The work interprets
the all-important and unique aspects of mood, action and light.
The result is paintings that are dissimilar in color use, technique,
and tool work, yet hold the singularity of the scene and momentary
state of mind. There is definitely a "Cynthia McMullin"
style, but it is dynamic, responding to personal and artistic growth.
The desire to push and expand my courage and freedom of expression
is at the heart of each painting.
