THE CLOWN has built a stable of some of Maine's established artists from the 20th Century along with new and recently recognized painters of today. This May at THE CLOWN we are featuring one of these painters with a series of New Paintings by Willa Vennema.

"When painting with oils in the studio, I have two major focuses which influence each other as the paintings evolve. One focus is to create an imaginary space which will allow the viewer to enter and take part in the interpretation of the scene...My other focus when working in the studio is on the sensual aspects of the paint; I am interested in the process in which paint tells a story through the history of the layers applied."
