THE ULTIMATE ITALIAN WINE TOUR
This is the tour for oenophiles & foodies! Discover the passion of Tuscany's culinary and wine-making heritage on this tour of sensory appreciation. Small groups (8-10 people) spend a week in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region as Italy's wine experts lead customized classes and tours designed to enhance the wine-tasting experience. A typical day in the five-day seminar includes a two-hour "sensory" tasting class where wines are compared by sight, smell and taste, with lively discussion by participants. The remaining hours of the day include visits to some of Tuscany's most renowned vineyards, meeting with the winemakers, visits to local enotecas and village markets, and sight-seeing trips to Florence and Siena.
Comfortable accommodations are provided at Tramonti, a restored 12th century farmhouse and vineyard near Castellina in Chianti. This private 200-acre estate has commanding views of the stunning Italian countryside and the medieval cities of Siena and San Gimignano. Each room has a queen-size or two twin beds and a private bath.
Did we mention cuisine? Participation in the Ultimate Wine Tour includes three traditional Tuscan meals cooked by a local chef at Tramonti, plus exquisite dining in regional restaurants that showcase Tuscany's passion for fresh ingredients and unforgettable flavors.
For full details and sample itinerary, see the itinerary of one of the tours at the bottom of this page. Fee of $2,700 includes all ground transportation, airport shuttle, accommodations (double occupancy), classes, tours, wine and meals for six days. Air fare is the responsibility of the participant.
