Discover Tuscany from the beautifully
restored 1000 year old
farmhouse and vineyard known as Tramonti, in Castellina in Chianti. With views of Siena and San Gimignano in the
morning from the kitchen’s country breakfast table and afternoon walks
in the
vineyard, this week in Tuscany will introduce you to the pleasures of
Italian
culture and art history found throughout the countryside.
We will travel to such treasures as Assisi to
see frescoes by Giotto, Arezzo holds work by the wonderful Piero della
Francesco,
and Lucca, birthplace of Italian Opera’s star, Puccini.
But do not worry about the stress and strain
of a busy schedule, we will balance it all out with easy relaxing days
in
Castellina and Siena along with the always delicious Italian food!

Suzanne Gagnon,
has visited Italy numerous times with her initial time
there working in archaeology on an Etruscan site in Murlo, just south of
Siena. Suzanne graduated from Bowdoin
College with a
degree in Political Philosophy. At the
age of 30 and a mother to a new born son, Suzanne realized that art was
her
passion (along with Italy), so began her journey of self-education and
travel. Suzanne organized and led a group on an art
history trip of Venice, Florence, and Rome in the fall of 2004 and completed her first tour for THE CLOWN in November 2005.
Dates of future tours available upon request. Itineraries are flexible and change with each group to meet specific interests.
